Steinþór Freyr Þorsteinsson (born 29 July 1985) is an Icelandic football player who currently plays for Sandnes Ulf in the Norwegian Adeccoliga. He is known for his outstanding athleticism and long throw ins. He was voted the best player of the first seven rounds of the Icelandic Pepsi deildin in both 2009 and 2010.[1] On July 31, 2010 he signed a 2 and half year contract with Örgryte IS, but was released when the club went bankrupt in early February 2011. In March 2011 he signed a one year contract with Norwegian club Sandnes Ulf. At Sandnes Ulf Steinthor has showed an amazing skill to win penlties and free kicks. In his first 9 games for the team he had already won 6 penalties for the team.[2]

Steinthor played his first senior national team game for Iceland in November 2009 against Iran and has since then played for 5 more games for the Icelandic national team.
